Congratulations for every competitors and thanks for everybody who helped to organise this really fantastic event.
Here we publish the final results.
As soon as we are ready with it, we are going to publish the results of the Nations Cup, too.
Email scam alert!
We have received feedback from several people/friends that fraudsters/scammers are asking money/help etc. on behalf of FISTC Board members and Delegates. The sender name is from FISTC website (ie. Alain Diffort, Franco Mannato etc.) but the sender email adress is not belong to them (ie. president20022@gmail_com; bestpresident259@gmail_com, etc.). The subject is usually "request", "support" or something similar. The address is also correct (Dear Laura, Dear Laszlo etc.), just like the signature at the end of the short letters.
The only thing that clearly proves that it is fraud is the sender's email address (see above).
If you receive an email that meets the criteria described above please check the senders email address twice before answering.

Trail length:
due to the high temperature that not allowed to train the dogs properly has been decided to short the trail as follow:
C – D – CC – BJ: 5 km
B – A: 8 km
MD: 12/14 km
Stake out:
The stake out area will be open from Wednesday at 12.00
On the stake out area there will be toilet and shower with hot water
No electricity for caravan or van.
Restaurant and bar:
During all the EC in the stake out area there is a restaurant serving Italian dishes.

Entry to the FISTC Cart EC 2022 (Italy) has been opened

the entry to the FISTC Cart European Championship 2022 (Gropello Cairoli - Italy) - oganised by CIS - is opened! The entry form is available at your Delegates.
The entry deadline is 10th November 2022.
We are going to inform you the details of the Cart European Championship soon (trail lengths, accomodations etc.).

Even if November is late in the mosquito season and dogs (and humans) should be safe from their bite, I ask all dogs partecipating to the Cart Championship to be given a repellent.
Mosquitoes and gnats (Phlebotomies) can carry diseases such as heartworm (filarasis) and leishmaniasis. Even if by November there should not be any danger, an easy extra precaution will just put our dogs in a safer position. So it will be mandatory for the dogs to be given a mosquito/gnat repellent containing permethrin (or derivates). If your dogs already has taken an oral antiparasitic agent containing Flunaren/Afoxolaner (Bravecto/Nexgard) the extra spot-on will not interfer/be excessive. Oral treatment are never effective against mosquitoes and gnats. I recommend the treatment to be given a few days (4-5) before the race, so that it will be active (and not 20 days earlier, or it might have expired).
Permethrin (or derivates) is contained in Advantix, Exspot, Frontline TRIACT (not in Combo), Vectra 3D and other spot-ons. Or collars like Scalibor or Seresto.

FISTC General Assembly 2022 - Gropello Cairoli (I)
Our Federation held it's General Assembly in Gropello Cairoli (Pavia - Italy) at 11-12th June 2022., organized by the CIS (Club Italiano Sleddog).
On Friday afternoon we could enjoy the Italian hospitality at a picturesque riserva near Gropello, which will be the location of our next Cart European Championship. The owner, Mr. Giuseppe Beretta and the representatives of CIS (Mr. Luca Castelletta, Mr. Luca Brioschi and Mr. Marco Visconti) showed to the Delegates and the FISTC Board the possibilities of the location, the start/finish and stake out area, the halls of the Musher party, delegates meeting, race office, and between the nice old farm-buildings the center of the event, the inner court, which will be the place of podium, tents for foods and drinks, shops etc. After a degustation of local products we had the possibility to check the longest trail with an opened van and a pick-up. After we checked the flat, but technical trail, which meandering in the beautiful forests, next to rice fields, between streams and canals we had a visit in the wonderful town of Vigevano. After the sightseeing we just had a short rest and went to a local restaurant and enjoyed a very nice dinner thanks to our hosts.
On Saturday we held our GA in the meeting room of the local library. The detailed Minutes of the GA will be published within a few days, until that - as we also had an election let us introduce the new Executive Board of FISTC:

After the election and a short brake we discussed the motions and proposals of our Member Countries and the other points of the Agenda.
Saturday evening thanks to our hosts the Delegates and the Board had a great dinner again in a local restaurant.
After the great General Assembly we look forward to our next Cart European Championship in Gropello Cairoli (Pavia - Italy) at 25-27th November 2022., where our competitors can also experience Italian hospitality and great organization on a wonderful location.

the next FISTC Cart European Championship will be hold in Gropello Cairoli - Italy, organised by CIS (Club Italiano Sleddog)
The confirmed date of our event is 25-27th November 2022.
Cancelling of Sprint and Distance Championships 2022
Dear Mushers,
we did our best to organize our FISTC Snow Championships.
The date was changed, the option for a new place was studied, and I want to thank Romania and Italy (FIMSS) for their efforts to give us different options.
At the end, with the new dates many mushers can’t be available and the snow cover in Millegrobbe is not good enough today.
The temperatures will increase these next weeks and no big snowfalls are expected.
In addition to these points, the situation in Ukraine can be a problem for the countries which have a border with that country.
Finally, we took the difficult decision to cancel our snow Sprint World Championship and European Distance Championship 2022.
Next meeting will be our GA in Italy, organized by the CIS.
The dates will be decided soon.
