Everywhere in Europe the situation due to COVID 19 is really very difficult and in some countries it's a disaster.

In France for example, we can't go out from home more than one hour per day and not more than 1 Km away from our home place.

In these conditions we have to cancel or postpone our Cart EC.

Our Italian friends will do their best in order to find a new date in spring for that very important event for the FISTC.

Regarding our GA, the board of the FISTC will try to organize a video conference as soon as possible.

We hope that the situation will be better very soon and that it will be possible to organize our winter Championships.

As soon as we have new information you will be informed.

We have received feedback from several people/friends that fraudsters/scammers are asking money/help etc. on behalf of FISTC Board members and Delegates. The sender name is from FISTC website (ie. Alain Diffort, Franco Mannato etc.) but the sender email adress is not belong to them (ie. president20022@gmail_com; bestpresident259@gmail_com, etc.). The subject is usually "request", "support" or something similar. The address is also correct (Dear Laura, Dear Laszlo etc.), just like the signature at the end of the short letters.

The only thing that clearly proves that it is fraud is the sender's email address (see above).

If you receive an email that meets the criteria described above please check the senders email address twice before answering.

➢ Distance race: 14,1 km (Bikejöring 1 and 2 dogs, C, B, A, O categories) without any loops

➢ O, A categories: 10,7 km

➢ C, D, canicross, bikejöring and scooter with 1 or 2 dogs categories: 5,2 km

our Cart European Championship at its originally planned place (Klaistow - Germany) has been canceled.

However we inform you the CIS is going to organize the FISTC Cart European Championship 2020 at the same date - of course on a different place.

FISTC EC Sprint and Distance 2020

We were very lucky to have our EC in Pragelato (Italie) just before all the issues due to the COVID 19.

From 21 st . to 23 rd . of February 2020 all the mushers could enjoy the very nice place which is Pragelato
close to Sestrieres.

The organisation was perfect thanks to the members of the CIS who were always available to solve
any little problem that we could face.

Before the first day of race everybody was a little bit anxious because of the lack of snow everywhere
in Europe but after the first heat, no stress anymore.
The trails were prepared by the local ski resort in a perfect way and no musher had a negative
comment.
After the first heat the final result was already predictable in some categories but some very nice
"fights" took place the next 2 days.

As the temperature (due to the sun) increased every day, the first start was one hour earlier in order
to have very good snow conditions.

The last day the trail for the Distance mushers was a little bit shorter and absolutely all the mushers
were happy after the 3 days of race : Sprint and Distance.
As we started early, we finished early and we could enjoy the very nice sunny weather.

From the opening ceremony to the medals ceremony everything was perfect so, just 2 words to the
organisers (CIS) : Thank you !

After the fantastic Cart European Championship organised by our Hungarian friends last November
and that EC on snow, we have to face the huge problem which is the COVID19.
All the races were cancelled in many European countries which are now in a total confinement but
the snow conditions were anyway not good enough to continue our sport.

Results after 1st heat.

Dear Mushers,

At today the race is confirmed, there is a lack of snow only in lower part of the trail, no problems in the others parts. so both the Championship are confirmed.

The stake out will be open on wednesday starting from 13.00.

About other informations the lenght are confirmed as on the website and any modifications will be decided with race Marshall on Thursday.

Dear Mushers,

Sestrieres "village" is at 2035 m. altitude and the alpine trails up to 2840 m.  

At the TV you could see that there was a lot of snow but it was at high altitude.

Pragelato is at 1518 m. altitude and now, with the last snow falls there is enough snow to organize our European Championships Sprint and Distance.

So, the place where the EC are organized is PRAGELATO.

I hope you will all come to that very nice place and more information will follow regarding inscriptions and other details.

Dear Mushers,

First of all let me wish you, your families and your dogs all the best for 2020 with a good health first.

Our EC on snow was cancelled from Werfenweng (Austria) for a long time  but Massimo Bassan and the FIMSS offered us to have our snow EC both Sprint & Distance in Sestriere (Italy) with an Italian/French co-organisation and a back-up in Millegrobbe (Italy). They saved our EC and WC many times but, unfortunately, the situation is really bad regarding the amount of snow in Sestriere and in Millegrobbe as well.

In France and other countries the situation is the same with many races cancelled because of the lack of snow.

We work very actively on finding a new place for our snow EC Sprint and Distance 2020.

As soon as we have a solution we'll publish a new message.
