DAY 2: Saturday 19 november.

Today the weather was cloudy in the morning, but low temperatures created excellent conditions for the race.

Races started at 10 am with the Middle distance classes. in most categories, but not all, the teams that were at the first place yesterday confirmed their position and often increased the gap with the second. We have a full Czech monopoly on first position  in all MD Cart classes, with from category MD-O to MD-C2 5 Czech mushers leading their respective classes, Roman Habasko, Pacit Zdenek, Romana Guregova, Jaroslav Charouz and Vojtech Nemec, but this is no surprise as Czech Republic is the country where we have more longtrailers.

So only in non cart categories we had other countries showing up. In Bike -2 Men the leader is Laszlo Domonkos from Serbia, Bike-2 Women is leaded by Nathalie Roland from France, in Bike-1 Men the leader is Jan Neger from Slovakia and Austrian Elisabetz Smejkal-Hayn is first in Bike-1 Women.

In sprint, positions are not as clear as in MD and the third heat may well bring some changes and surprises.

In A class, Karl Rachbauer (AUT) and Knud Schmolz (DEN) are fighting for the first place. In B1 Maros Litvaj (SVK) is followed by Attila Kiss (HUN), while the B2 class is promised as usual to Bernd Sauerhöfer (GER). The podium of the C1 class is very uncertain as the first four teams are very close to each other, even if the first is the Austrian junior Larissa Wiwner. The podium of the c2 class will be German for sure and the present leader is Frank Schölles. In D1, the first four teams are in 45 seconds so nothing is sure and the Hungarian leader, Zoltanne Varga should do her best tomorrow to keep her leadership. D2 class is leaded by the French junior Theo Kentzinger with two Greenland dogs just before another French Marc Brocard also with two Greenland dogs.

Competition in Bike and scooter classes is really tough and no podium is yet sure. In Bike 1- 2dogs M the leader is actually Igor Stefan (SVK), and by the women Junior Linea Kamper Pedersen is first. Bike 2-2 dogs is leaded by French Raphael Perrin. Roman Reistetter (SVK) is the leader in Bike 1-1 M, and Austrian Lisa Klaushofer in Bike 1-1W. In Bike 2-1 M three French mushers are fighting for the podium with Jean-Michel Hoog at the first place.

In scooter 1-2dogs M Russian Alexey Tarazanov is first and Moldovan Alexandr Bannicov is second. In Sc1-2W Hungarian Kitti  Köffer is first. Russia, Estonia and Moldova should be on the podium of class SC2-2M, leaded actually by Pavel Otbetkin. Germans Stefan Finzel and Stefanie Wunsch are respectevely leading the classes Sc1 - 1 Men and women. Sepp Brugger is th eleader in clas SC 2-1 M and Priscilla Neureiter from Portugal leads the women class.

In canicross we had the second day of Mass start, while tomorrow th estart will be with real time intervals. In CC2dogs M Seabastian Astelbauer is first, while Hungarian Zsuzsanna Gyurovics leads CC2dogs W. Michal Ivanco /SVK) and Oleg Frolov (RUS) will compete for the first place in CC1M as will Edina Koris (HUN) and Gabriela Lehka (CZE) by the women. Theo Kentzinger (FRA) leads the junior class as does Virag Kiss-Toth in Junior Girls. Finally the young junior class is leaded by Slovak Tamara Ivancova.

Tomorrow the third day with a good weather as it is forecast will be really exciting.
