Information about Dog Passes

Having received a letter from our German member of the FISTC, the Board wants to make it clear, that Decisions taken at a GA, where the Board is not voting, cannot be changed by the Board.
Through normal Democratic procedures the Delegates of the Countries are making the Decisions, which we - the Board - have to follow. In addition, when the FISTC GA makes a Decision, this Decision cannot be changed for two years !

Because of this letter, and talks going around, we want to stress, that the Decision taken by the Delegates about Dog Passes made it EASIER for the Musher, as there are now two possibilities for new dogs to enter our races, until now all new dogs with Dog Passes given by the member Countries were also checked at the pre-racing check. Now there are TWO Possibilities:

1. As it was before the musher can let his dogs being checked at the pre-racing check-up (of course dogs can be refused, when they are not in the standard).

AND, NOW THE EXTRA POSSIBILITY,

2. If the dog has a GOOD result by an FCI judge, it will be accepted.

In this way the musher has no uncertainty whether a new dog can start, so in our Opinion this is an improvement.

We do hope this makes this Change very clear and takes away any Misunderstanding.

Please remember that we are here working for the Pure Breed Dogs (according to standards) and the Mushers.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2010
CHIOMONTE - PIAN DEL FRAIS (ITALY)
19th-20th JUNE 2010

Minutes of GA 2010

Report from the President, Mr Franco Mannato:

Ladies and Gentlemen, dear Delegates,

I am very happy to welcome you here in CHIOMONTE for this General Assembly and I take this opportunity to thank the Mayor of the city, Gianni Gorgerino and the organisatin committee as well as CIS, the inviting Italian club, for the perfect and generous organisation of this event. While we are here we will learn more about this place and some of us will remember the excellent race they organised in February 2006 during the first week-end of the Olympic Winter Games of Torino, a fantastic moment that remains alive in the memories of all those who had the chance to participate and I have been one of these lucky few.
This year my report will be mixed as we had some positive aspects and several negative ones during the past year.....
